While attending the Jamaica Tourist Board Travel Specialist Familiarization Tour in October 2013, I was able to spend two (2) nights at the Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort, located in Runaway Bay, which is on the north coast, approximately 45 miles from the Montego Bay airport. The Resort had not opened to the public (scheduled to open November 2013); however, I am honored to say that I was one of the first guests to stay at this lovely resort. Literally, I witnessed the staff tear plastic off of new mattresses, assemble beds, and all of the other finishing touches to prepare the Resort for full operation.
The Resort is the newest addition to the Jewel family of Jamaican premium all-inclusive resorts, which joins the Jewel Dunn’s River and the Jewel Runaway Bay. The Jewel Paradise Cove and the Jewels Dunn’s Rivers are adults-only resorts. The Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa has an all-inclusive health and fitness theme. This resort will have natural, fresh juices and smoothies as well as the Radiant Spa, a two-story oceanfront Spa with a menu of services from massages, facials and body treatment services.
The Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa includes the “Jewel Exclusives;” Pool Concierge who will serve guests while relaxing at the pool; Dine in Movies, guests can watch movies at the pool and will be served snacks; Gem of the Day, which is a unique cocktail for each day of the week; and Candlelit Dining under the Stars, for special occasions, guests will be served a six-course candlelit dining experience.
At the Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa, there are no wristbands, all guests are treated the same, regardless of the room category that they are checked in. All of the room categories are the same; however, there is a difference in room view (pool, ocean or garden).
There are seven (7) restaurants, including two (2) casual dining, one (1) formal dining and three (3) resort casual; and six (6) bars, including a swim-up and piano; and many all-inclusive amenities. Each guest enjoy in room complimentary-stocked mini-bar, high-speed internet in each room, and so many more comfortable amenities. Butler service is available which includes an in room mini-bar which is stocked and replenished with water, coffee/tea, beer, wine and premium liquors; the butlers take care of in suite check-in, unpacking and pressing, turn-down service, room service and much more.
Water activities are included such as scuba diving, sunset cruise, glass-bottom boat tour, reef snorkeling excursion, water skiing, tour of Dunn’s River Falls, windsurfing, and a shopping tour stopping at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. Golfers will enjoy complimentary green fees at the Runaway Golf Club (carts, clubs, and mandatory caddies are available at a reasonable fee).
The Resort is primarily for couples; however, there are a few rooms with two (2) double beds to accommodate singles and groups. It’s a lovely venue for couples, including honeymooners and destination wedding guests. Wedding ceremonies and wedding guests can be accommodated at the Jewel Runaway Resort (all ages).
The Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa is a wonderful resort. I experienced it at its beginning stage and the service was impeccable, the entire resort was immaculate, and it was pure luxury and sophistication as promised. I look forward to returning to the resort for a leisure stay. The Resort is offering so many introductory specials such as free nights and early booking bonuses, I just may return before the end of the year.
